From 2006 to 2012, for seven years out of the 18-year history of the Princeton HealthCare System (PHCS) Golf Outing, proceeds from the event supported construction costs for the new University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. During that time, the event grew in both size and scope, raising more than $680,000 to help build the new hospital.
With the hospital now open and the campaign over, this year’s Outing raised funds for a new cause—health-care services for uninsured and underinsured patients at the Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) Community Health Center. The BMS Community Health Center serves as a medical home for a diverse population of nearly 6,000 people in our community—about one-third of whom are children—who have extremely limited resources and may otherwise have nowhere else to turn for care.
The PHCS Golf Outing attracts about 70 sponsors and more than 150 golfers each year; the 2013 event was a record-breaking success, netting more than $178,000. We would like to thank everyone who supported the event and, in particular, our Lead Sponsors: Bill and Judith Scheide, Conner Strong & Buckelew, SEI Investment Management, and Spacelabs Healthcare.
Save the date for the 19th Annual PHCS Golf Outing, which will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Metedeconk National Golf Club in Jackson, NJ. For additional information, please contact Kelly Madsen at 609.252.8705 or firstname.lastname@example.org, or visit www.phcsgolf.org.
