As children head back to school and school sports like soccer, field hockey and football get into full swing, so do sports-related injuries like shin splints, muscle strains and sprains, stress fractures and tendonitis. But proper conditioning, good practice habits and swift medical attention can prevent or at least reduce the chance of injury to a young player.
