There are a wide range of opportunities available for adult volunteers at Princeton HealthCare System. Adult volunteers are scheduled between the hours of 5:30 a.m. and 9 p.m., Monday through Sunday, and serve a minimum of three hours per week. Volunteer assignments are based on organizational need, in addition to your interests, skills and availability. Adult volunteers enjoy many benefits, including free parking, documentation of hours, free training, celebratory events for recognition and invitations to certain hospital events.
Steps to apply:

Make sure you are able to commit to the program. Volunteers must to commit to 100 hours of volunteer service within a 12-month period of time.

Submit an application with a letter of recommendation from someone other than a family member or friend. (To download an application, click here.)

After you submit the application, you will be contacted by the Volunteer Services Department within one to two weeks to schedule an interview. During the interview, we will discuss your interests, activities, previous experiences, assignment preferences, availability and next steps, such as orientation and training.
Once an assignment is agreed upon, you will be invited to attend hospital orientation. This orientation session is mandated by hospital policy and necessary to ensure the safety of our patients, volunteers and employees. Topics covered during orientation include infection control, patient confidentiality/HIPAA, fire/safety, age-specific competency, customer satisfaction and cultural diversity. Following orientation, you will be required to have a tuberculosis screening test, provided free of charge through our Occupational Health program.
