Statement from Princeton HealthCare System

At approximately 8:50 p.m. on April 10, an explosion occurred in a patient room at University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. The fire department was immediately called. One staff member was seriously hurt and a visitor was treated at the hospital and released. As a precautionary measure, 18 patients on the unit were safely moved to other floors within the hospital. The cause of the explosion is under investigation, but is believed to be accidental and related to an oxygen tank.
