Princeton HealthCare System today announced the winners of its "Picture of Health" photo contest, designed to showcase the mission, beauty and technological excellence of the new University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro (UMCPP)

First-, second- and third-place awards were presented in two categories: exterior and interior. The photographs were judged based on their creative and aesthetic quality beyond basic architectural representation.

"The winning images capture the essence of the new University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro in a unique and artistic way," said Barry Rabner, president and CEO of Princeton HealthCare System.

The winners in the exterior category are:

  • First place ($500) - Rob McHugh, Newtown, Pa.
  • Second place ($300) - Alan Kesselhaut, Princeton, N.J.
  • Third place ($150) - Jennifer Galgano, Pennington, N.J.

The winners in the interior category are:

  • First place ($500) - Nick Palmieri, Linden, N.J.
  • Second place ($300) - Madeline Shellaby, Belle Meade, N.J.
  • Third place ($150) - David DesRochers, Cranford, N.J.

The Photo Contest, open to amateurs and professionals, attracted more than 150 entries, which all were taken during three days in May. Prizes were sponsored by CAMA Inc., a New Haven, Conn.-based interior design firm specializing in health care facilities. Judges included two renowned New Jersey-based professional photographers along with members of the UMCPP Art for Healing Committee.
