Pulmonary, Sleep Specialist Joins Princeton Health Medical Associates

Dr. Ashgan A. Elshinawy, a triple board certified internist who specializes in pulmonary disease and sleep medicine,
will join the medical staff at Princeton Health Medical Associates on January 3, 2011. 
Dr. Elshinawy will see patients at two locations: 11 Centre Drive, Suite
A, Monroe Township, and the University Medical Center at Princeton
(UMCP) Sleep Center, 253 Witherspoon St., Princeton.
Dr. Elshinawy, who began her clinical practice in 2005, is board
certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and sleep medicine.
She graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New
Jersey (UMDNJ)-School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, N.J., in
1999 and then completed a three-year internal medicine residency at Beth
Israel Medical Center in Manhattan.
Dr. Elshinawy completed her pulmonary fellowship at Memorial
Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan and her sleep medicine
fellowship at New York University Medical Center.
At the Monroe office, Dr. Elshinawy will evaluate and treat adults for
pulmonary disorders such as asthma; cough; chronic obstructive pulmonary
disease, or COPD; cystic fibrosis; emphysema; interstitial lung
disease; lung cancer; pulmonary embolism; and respiratory
infections including bronchitis, pneumonia and tuberculosis.
Dr. Elshinawy will evaluate and treat pediatric and adult patients for
sleep disorders - including obstructive sleep apnea, narcolepsy,
insomnia, and abnormal behaviors such as sleep walking and restless leg
syndrome - at both the Monroe office and the UMCP
