PHCS’ Community Magazine Recognized Among Nation’s Best

Princeton HealthCare System's bimonthly community magazine, Health Focus, recently received a Special Recognition award as part of ContentWise's fifth annual Magnum Opus Awards.

Sponsored by ContentWise in conjunction with the Missouri School of Journalism, the Magnum Opus Awards are the leading program dedicated exclusively to custom publishing.

Health Focus achieved Special Recognition in the Print Newsletter-External category. Other 2008 award-winners of this prestigious award program include The Walt Disney Company, Cleveland Clinic, American Airlines, The Joint Commission, Toyota Motor Sales and T. Rowe Price.

Earlier this year, Health Focus also was honored with a Silver Award in the 2008 Aster Awards, recognizing excellence in healthcare advertising and marketing, and a Silver Communicator Award as part of the 14th Annual Communicator Awards, recognizing excellence in creative work among communications professionals.

The Magnum Opus Award marks the latest in more than a dozen national awards PHCS has received for marketing/advertising this year. Other honors include:

  • 2008 Aster Awards--five awards, including a Gold for the UMCP Maternal-Child Health Program banner; three Silver, for UMCP Orthopedics campaign, UMCP Primary Stroke Center ad and Health Focus; and a Bronze, for the UMCP Maternal-Child Health Program logo
  • 14th Annual Communicator Awards--four Silver Communicator Awards, recognizing the UMCP Primary Stroke Center ad, UMCP Orthopedics campaign, "Take Heart" direct mail postcard and Health Focus
  • 25th Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards--two Gold Awards, for the UMCP Breast Health Center flash ad (website) and UMCP Primary Stroke Center ad, and a Merit Award for the UMCP Maternal-Child Health Program logo
