PHCS Nationally Recognized for Excellence in Medical Marketing

Princeton, NJ--Princeton HealthCare System has been recognized with a dozen awards in three prestigious national competitions this year honoring excellence in advertising and marketing efforts.
PHCS received five awards in this year's 2008 Aster Awards competition:
- UMCP Maternal-Child Health Program Banner--Gold Award
- UMCP Orthopedics campaign--Silver Award
- UMCP Primary Stroke Center ad--Silver Award
- Health Focus community magazine--Silver Award
- UMCP Maternal-Child Health Program logo--Bronze Award
The Aster Awards, an elite national program recognizing outstanding healthcare professionals for advertising/marketing excellence, is hosted by Marketing Healthcare Today and Creative Images Inc. The 2008 Aster Awards consisted of approximately 3,000 entries nationwide. Entries must score at least in the top 16 percent (a score of 85 or above) to receive an award. Judging is conducted by a diverse panel of healthcare marketing experts, with criteria that include creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal.
"Princeton HealthCare System is among the top in the nation for healthcare advertising expertise...specifically scoring in the top 5 percent. It was an honor to have PHCS participate in the 2008 Aster Awards," said Melinda R. Lucas, Aster Awards program coordinator. "They exceeded the judges' expectations."
In addition, PHCS received four Silver Communicator Awards as part of the 14th Annual Communicator Awards, which honors excellence in creative work among communications professionals. More than 8,500 entries were received this year and judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from such acclaimed media, communications, advertising, creative and marketing firms as Coach, Disney, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Estee Lauder, HBO, Monster.com, MTV, Polo Ralph Lauren, Sotheby's Institute of Art, Wired, and Yahoo!
The national competition recognized the following PHCS efforts: UMCP Primary Stroke Center ad, UMCP Orthopedics campaign, "Take Heart" direct mail postcard, and Health Focus, PHCS' community magazine.
Earlier this year, PHCS also received three awards in the prestigious 25th Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards, sponsored by Healthcare Marketing Report. Recognition was given for the following:
- UMCP Breast Health Center flash ad (website)--Gold Award
- UMCP Primary Stroke Center ad--Gold Award
- UMCP Maternal-Child Health Program logo--Merit Award
A record number of more than 4,400 entries were received in this year's 25th Annual Healthcare Advertising Awards, reported to be the oldest and largest competition of its kind. A national panel of judges selected award-winners based on such criteria as creativity, quality, message effectiveness, consumer appeal, graphic design and overall impact. Less than 10 percent of the entries received a coveted Gold Award.
