Jim Craigie Center for Joint Replacement

The Gold Seal of Approval™ from The Joint Commission
The Jim Craigie Center for Joint Replacement has received this highly prestigious award for:
  • Total Hip Replacements
  • Total Knee Replacements

In May 2015, University Medical Center of Princeton (UMCP) was rated high performing in hip replacement and knee replacement as part of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals for Common Care ratings.

The Jim Craigie Center for Joint Replacement was made possible by a gift from Jim Craigie, who had both his hips replaced at University Medical Center of Princeton (now University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro). Mr. Craigie was so pleased with the quality of the care he received – and the improved quality of his life – that he made a gift to establish this extraordinary center.

Don’t let a painful hip or knee slow you down.

Every day you use your hips and knees as you walk, climb stairs and move through your life. So when injuries or common conditions cause these every day movements to become painful, it can stop you from enjoying your life. The good news? Joint replacement surgery can provide a safe and effective remedy – and get you back on your feet faster than you imagined.

We’re with you, every step of the way.

The experts at the Jim Craigie Center for Joint Replacement have created a comprehensive program to help eliminate your pain and restore your strength and mobility so you can reclaim your life as soon as possible. From pre-admission testing and education classes prior to surgery and rehabilitation and pain management afterward, you will be informed about your care and actively involved with it at every step. You can even invite a family member or friend to play a very special role as your “Coach” as you prepare for surgery and recover from it. In most cases you’ll be on your feet walking – with very little or no pain – the very same day as surgery!
