University Medical Center at Princeton

Welcome

University Medical Center at Princeton, a unit of Princeton HealthCare System, UMCP - Doctor Teachinghas been a leading teaching hospital for more than 30 years. We unite the superior quality care that patients receive at an academic hospital with an exceptional level of personal caring. This is just one of the many ways we are Redefining Care for our patients and their families.

Established in 1919, University Medical Center at Princeton is a 308-licensed-bed acute care hospital. As a University Hospital Affiliate of the prestigious University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey–Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and a Clinical Research Affiliate of The Cancer Institute of New Jersey, University Medical Center at Princeton integrates our care with advanced technologies, diagnostics and treatment protocols. UMCP is also a member of the Association of American Medical College's prestigious Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH).

In July 2009, UMCP entered into an exciting partnership with The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to enhance pediatric services available at the hospital through pediatric emergency consultation, inpatient pediatric care and neonatal care, as part of CHOP Newborn & Pediatric Care at UMCP. Since September 2011, University Medical Center at Princeton has partnered with Penn Medicine to offer advanced care for expectant mothers in need of specialized services and round-the-clock access to board certified obstetricians, maternal fetal medicine specialists, anesthesiologists, neonatologists and pediatricians, through Penn Maternal Fetal Medicine at UMCP.

Indicative of our exceptional clinical care, The Joint Commission announced that UCMP is one of the Top Performers on Key Quality Measures in the United States, making UMCP among only 405 hospitals nationwide being recognized for 2010.

This is the first time The Joint Commission is recognizing accredited hospitals and critical access hospitals that attain and sustain excellence in accountability measure performance. UMCP is the only hospital in this region, and one of only 12 in New Jersey to earn this recognition from The Joint Commission. Once again, we are in the same company as the Mayo Clinic Health System and Cleveland Clinic Florida.

In addition to this recognition, UMCP is a state-recognized Primary Stroke Center. We also have a skilled medical staff that includes a high percentage of board certified physicians.

University Medical Center at Princeton is committed to Redefining Care by continually enhancing the quality of the care we provide and improving the health of the communities we serve.
