Why Is University Medical Center at Princeton Moving?

By building a new hospital, Princeton HealthCare System (PHCS) can ensure that University Medical Center at Princeton is sufficiently sized and equipped to continue to provide outstanding healthcare to its community and meet the changing healthcare needs of our region over time. A new state-of-the-art facility will fully utilize the latest innovations in the design of healthcare facilities, providing adequate space for advanced medical technologies that require more physical space than they did even a decade ago.

Building a new facility is more cost-effective and will better serve the community over the long term than expanding and renovating the hospital's existing campus, bounded by established neighborhoods in downtown Princeton.
