Pastoral Care Information for Patients

Faith as a Resource for Patients and Families

The chaplains of the hospital are available to patients, families and friends from all religious faiths and to those with no affiliation.

Whether you have a religious background or not, we will offer you an attentive ear to listen to what you are going through and help explore how the illness of yourself or a loved one affects your life.

If you would like one of us to stop by your room for a visit, we would be happy to do so.  You may ask your nurse to contact us or you may call our office directly on extension 4231.

Contacting Your Clergy

If desired, our chaplaincy office will contact your own church, parish or synagogue.  We make this notification only with your permission.  Please call us at 609.497.4231 (in-hospital extension 4231) if you would like this service.

Roman Catholic priests can be reached for response to urgent needs.  Rabbis are available by request.  A Hindu priest or an Imam also can be contacted on your behalf.

The Morgan Interfaith Chapel

The Morgan Interfaith Chapel is located on the first floor of University Medical Center at Princeton. The chapel is always open for you or your visitors as a place for prayer, meditation and reflection.  There is a book in the chapel where requests for prayers may be written.

On Sunday mornings at 10:45 a.m. there is a Christian Service of Worship in the chapel with an organist.

Services are also held in observance of special holidays such as Passover, Yom Kippur, Christmas, Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.

[Sunday chapel services also are held at Princeton House Behavioral Health in the Main Lobby at 9:45 a.m. and at Merwick Care Center in the Second Floor Activities Room at 11:30 a.m.]

Communion for Roman Catholics

Communion is available for Roman Catholics on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

This service is provided by Eucharistic Ministers from St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in Princeton.
