Auxiliary

Welcome

fd5c09b71d1d4ba3bcd2292774871859.jpgThe Auxiliary of University Medical Center at Princeton is a dynamic group of volunteers who raise funds for UMCP through special events and other projects. Members of the Auxiliary, a nonprofit organization, generously donate their time and energy to creating such extraordinary annual events as:

  • The White Elephant Art, Antiques and Rummage Sale
  • A November Night, a dinner dance and auction
  • ArtFirst!, an international juried exhibition and sale featuring original work by professional artists with disabilities
  • The Princeton HealthCare System 10K Race

The Auxiliary also sponsors art exhibits which feature works by talented local artists, the UMCP Gift Shop, newborn photos and junior merit awards for teen volunteers. In the past, the Auxiliary has supported the renovation and expansion of the Emergency Department, the Cancer Program and the establishment of a Breast Health Center.

In 2006, the Auxiliary of University Medical Center at Princeton supported the immediate care provided to heart attack patients in the Emergency Department at University Medical Center at Princeton. The Auxiliary focused on providing cardiac-related equipment, facilities and staff training materials. The Auxiliary’s gift also contributed to the purchase of new defibrillators placed throughout the hospital. The Auxiliary supported  the 2006 Healthy Heart Program and cardiac screening sessions offered to area residents through the Community Education & Outreach Program and Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.

The Auxiliary has pledged to support Maternal-Child Health at University Medical Center at Princeton over the next five years. Beginning in 2007, its fund raising efforts will help enable University Medical Center's award-winning Maternal-Child Health Program to enhance its technology and services.  The program has been ranked among the top 5% of Maternity Programs in the United States for the second year in a row by HealthGrades, an independent company that evaluates healthcare quality.  Funding from the Auxiliary will benefit mother and baby by supporting the most advanced nurse/patient communication system, mother and baby health monitoring systems, newborn equipment and neonatal diagnostic equipment. When University Medical Center at Princeton relocates, the Auxiliary will continue to raise funds for Maternal-Child Health and support the hospital's commitment to providing excellent care for mothers, new babies and families in our community.
