There are many benefits to choosing UMCP’s Acute Rehabilitation Unit:

Active & Involved Medical Leadership

Our 17-bed acute rehabilitation unit is led by a physician who is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation. A board certified internist will manage your medical conditions.

Excellent Care

Each patient in our rehabilitation unit receives a personal evaluation and a comprehensive treatment plan. Treatment goals focus on measurable improvements and the return of vital functions such as balance, mobility, cognition, speech and memory. Patients receive care in a state-of-the-art therapy gym and practice life skills in a variety of home-like and public settings. Patient and family education that includes print materials and Internet access are also important components of your care.

Interdisciplinary Treatment

The members of our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team are highly involved in each individual’s treatment.

  • Physicians with board certification in physical medicine and rehabilitation

National Accreditation for Excellence

The University Medical Center at Princeton Acute Rehabilitation Unit has been awarded the highest level of accreditation possible by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), an international organization dedicated to promoting quality, value and optimal outcomes.  It is the only CARF-accredited acute rehabilitation unit in Mercer County.

Continuity of Your Care

If you or a loved one is a patient at UMCP, our physicians and staff will have direct, computerized access to your hospital medical records. This helps to ensure a smooth transition from one level of care to the next. When you come to UMCP's Acute Rehabilitation Unit from another hospital, the physicians and staff at UMCP are committed to communicating with your personal physician about your care and progress throughout your stay and upon discharge.

Exceptional Outcomes

By committing more staff and more time to each patient, UMCP's Acute Rehabilitation Unit is setting new standards for the treatment of the acute inpatient. This additional care can lead to a faster recovery with less pain, more comfort and greater function and quality of life.

Satisfaction

Patient satisfaction is consistently high with ratings exceeding 90 percent.
