Princeton House Behavioral Health Continuum of Care for Adolescents

Princeton House Behavioral Health offers innovative programs for the treatment of adolescents who are struggling with addictions and emotional problems. The Princeton House Behavioral Health adolescent continuum of care offers a variety of programs at locations in Princeton, North Brunswick, Hamilton and Cherry Hill.

Inpatient Substance Abuse Program

Princeton

PH Adolescents 2 At our main campus in Princeton, our inpatient program provides intensive short-term treatment for chemically dependent male and female adolescents between 13 and 18 years of age. This highly specialized program is designed to meet the needs of those who require a regimen of care in a 24-hour setting. Many of the adolescents in our program have been unable to maintain abstinence in an outpatient setting.

Partial Hospital Programs

North Brunswick, Cherry Hill and Hamilton

When inpatient care is not needed, but intensive therapeutic intervention and support is, our partial hospital programs assist adolescents to achieve emotional stability and safety. We offer day programs, which run six hours per day, for adolescents who need help with psychiatric problems, or a combination of substance abuse and emotional difficulties. Door-to-door transportation is provided.

After-School Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP)

For adolescents who are able to remain in school, but require help with emotional problems or substance abuse issues, a three-hour group meeting three times a week may be an alternative to, or step down from an inpatient or partial hospital program. Transportation from school to our program site is available in some locations.

After-School IOP Addiction Recovery Program

North Brunswick, Cherry Hill and Hamilton

This program provides therapy, education and support for adolescents and families struggling with issues related to substance abuse. Our staff of certified addiction professionals and licensed therapists assist adolescents to:

  • Establish and maintain safety and sobriety
  • Understand the disease concept of addiction
  • Continue recovery work that may have begun in an inpatient setting
  • Manage developmental challenges and emotions in a healthy manner
  • Focus on relapse prevention planning

After-School IOP Psychiatric and Dual Diagnosis Program

North Brunswick and Hamilton

This program provides support through individual psychotherapy, group therapy, family counseling, psychoeducation groups, expressive therapies and psychotropic medication management and monitoring as needed to help adolescents maintain safety and attain emotional stability.
