OBJECTIVES:  Upon completion of this session, the participant shall be able to:

  • Describe the diagnostic testing options in patients with refractory GERD
  • Identify appropriate candidates for endoscopic ablation of Barrett's esophagus
  • Discuss the role of esophageal manometry in the evaluation of dysphagia

TARGET AUDIENCE:  Departments of Medicine, Family Practice, and Section of Gastroenterology

This course is directed to the learning needs of physicians, psychotherapists, psychologists, counselors, intermediate to advanced-level social workers and related fields of practice.

AGENDA:

  • Healthcare Reform - historical perspective
  • Patient Centered Medical Home - the concept, the structure, relevance for behavioral health
  • Accountable Care Organizations - definition, structure, reimbursement of ACOs, relevance for behavioral health 

OBJECTIVES:   Upon completion of this session, the participant shall be able to:

  • Delineate the key components of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act
  • Define the Medical Home
  • Describe how ACO will impact the delivery and integration of behavioral health services
