This course is directed to the learning needs of physicians, psychotherapists, psychologists, counselors, intermediate- to advanced-level social workers, and related fields of practice.

AGENDA:

  • Avoiding long-term prognosis (Diagnosis, Prognosis, Optimistic prognosis)

  • Avoiding stigma (Start, Stop, Continue)

  • Avoiding wall-building (Respect, Treat, Empower)

Learning Objectives:  Upon completion of this session, the participant shall be able to:

  • Convey the message of recovery to consumers

  • Differentiate among the myths and realities of a mental health diagnosis

  • Create a supportive healthcare professional/consumer partnership

    Princeton HealthCare System is accredited by the Medical Society of New Jersey to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
