  • Concepts of spirituality and meaning
  • Meaning and its relationship to symptoms and psychological distress
  • Summary of results from clinical trials

  • Introduce the concept of despair at end-of-life
  • Describe the importance of meaning in despair and suffering
  • Describe a novel approach to enhance meaning-centered psychotherapy for advanced cancer patients

  • Describe the range of expression of gender identity and sexual orientation
  • Summarize the unique needs and challenges of LGBT clients in behavioral health treatment settings
  • Identify common biases and misconceptions among providers who treat LGBT clients
