Inpatient Programs: Princeton

Psychiatric Program

ph adultsPrinceton House Behavioral Health provides highly individualized treatment that is tailored to each patient's needs and is designed to help patients get their lives back in balance. Care is provided by a skilled team of board certified physicians, nurses, social workers and allied mental health professionals.

Dual Diagnosis Program

For patients who are suffering with both psychiatric illness and chemical dependency, our multidisciplinary program and intensive daily schedule supports them at each step toward recovery.

Medical Detoxification

Princeton House Behavioral Health provides close medical supervision and medication monitoring during the detoxification process. The comfort and safety of our patients is our priority. Our short-term program involves counseling, education and family support in order to ensure physical and emotional stability.

Addiction Recovery

Establishing a support system that promotes ongoing recovery and stability is a critical part of recovery. At Princeton House Behavioral Health, we help you learn how to build and rely on such a system and to develop a variety of coping skills for the stressors to prevent relapse.

Short-term Care Facility

The Short-term Care Facility is located within Princeton House Behavioral Health and is part of a state-of-the-art, 25,000 square foot addition to our existing inpatient facility. It is a 19-bed adult acute care psychiatric unit, designated by The State of New Jersey Division of Mental Health Services, hospitalizing both involuntary and consensual patients. All patients are referred by a designated Screening Center and must be residents of Middlesex, Somerset or Hunterdon counties.

The goal of the Short-term Care Facility is to provide intensive treatment to patients meeting the commitment standard for mental illness. Every effort is made to stabilize the patient quickly and to transfer him or her to a less restrictive level of care as soon as possible. Treatment is provided with a multidisciplinary approach that includes the participation of community mental health representatives from various agencies.
